The Pancake Pantry – Nashville, TN

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Before heading out to explore the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum or the historic RCA Studio B in Nashville, TN, make sure to check out the Pancake Pantry located in the Hillsboro Village neighborhood south of downtown Nashville. The Pancake Pantry is a very popular spot for delicious pancakes which both locals and tourists line up just to get a table. In fact, people can be seen queuing up as early as 8 or 8:30 in the morning! Although you have to drive from downtown Nashville (or use Uber/Lyft) to go there, parking is available in the back. You will need to use the pay machine, however, if you press 1 at the machine, you will get 90 minutes of free parking as long as you display the ticket inside your car on the dashboard.

Pancakes are one of my favorite breakfast foods, so as soon as I found out about the restaurant and how many people were raving about the place, I knew I had to go there for breakfast. I was warned ahead of time about its popularity, so I went very early in the morning (around 7:30 AM to be exact). As it was still early, I was able to get a table right way. However, there were already a lot of people inside. As I gazed at the menu, I was amazed with how many different pancake varieties you could order. As tempting as all the different varieties were, I decided to order some good-old blueberry pancakes. You can never go wrong with blueberries mixed with pancakes!

Soon enough, my plate of pancakes had arrived. There were five pancakes on my plate along with a few blueberries on top along with some butter and powdered sugar. In addition, there were some additional blueberries and blueberry syrup on the side. I knew I was in for a real treat! As I took some bites into the pancakes, I could tell that they were quite fluffy and delicious. The blueberries along with the blueberry syrup gave the flapjacks the perfect fruit-filled taste I was looking for. What I also liked about the blueberry pancakes was that there were also blueberries cooked into the pancakes so that I could not miss that blueberry taste. With the exception of my mother’s and my uncle’s homemade pancakes, these were the best pancakes I have ever had!

In addition to the food, the service is very friendly, professional, and quick. While I was eating my pancakes, a couple to the left of me had finished their meal. When they left the restaurant, the busboy quickly cleaned up the table, and other people were sat down in the matter of 1-2 minutes. Also, I had the pleasure of sitting near a local who was a frequent visitor of the restaurant. When her breakfast was served, she had found a piece of burnt bacon on her plate. She brought that to her server’s attention, and the server quickly gave her a fresh replacement which was cooked perfectly. For any restaurant where something seems out of place, never be afraid to bring it to your server’s attention as he or she will do everything possible to make things right.

After my meal was finished, I was able to pay my bill up at the front counter. The prices were quite affordable for the amount of food I was provided. By the time I left the restaurant, I already saw several people lined up to get a table. The online reviews were correct – people line up early to eat those pancakes! Overall, my experience at the Pancake Pantry was phenomenal. The pancakes were so delicious, and the blueberries made things even better. If you are looking for a great way to start your day exploring Nashville, make sure to check out the Pancake Pantry for breakfast!
